They're the same width as they'd be if they weren't bicycle roads, it's just that they are legally prioritized for cyclists, and don't offer much of a through route for drivers.David Hembrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14543024940730663645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102538965694240940.post-78016458475915774552008-09-26T21:53:00.000+02:002008-09-26T21:53:00.000+02:00Added to the previous comment: I'm glad you have r...Added to the previous comment: I'm glad you have reservations about 'shared space': I'm not entirely convinced either: drivers seem to treat it as their space with pedestrian interlopers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102538965694240940.post-28998789273190217452008-09-26T21:43:00.000+02:002008-09-26T21:43:00.000+02:00I'm beginning to see the potential in our village ...I'm beginning to see the potential in our village for more cycleways and less traffic. Just one question about implementation- how do the fire service get around? We have quite a bit of shared space around here, but to be honest I think it's over-rated.

In the English language press you tend to see only the somewhat idyllic representation that the enthusiasts have that somehow this has resolved all problems between motorists and cyclists. I'd love to see you contrast them.
