I think the design of the bends at crossings is to provide sight under the railway bridge and to slow down cyclists and mopeds. And as mentioned already, it gives space to build a bridge.webmasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16877403569854835574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102538965694240940.post-81679051211182333762011-12-09T19:03:17.711+01:002011-12-09T19:03:17.711+01:00@kegge I too wondered about the strange curves. This kind of design is generally not accepted for highways as the A6, parallel to this path at the east side. The numerous sharp bends make it dangerous in the dark and are completely unnecessary speed breakers.kegge13https://www.blogger.com/profile/10055940835614916285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102538965694240940.post-85573423831617088132011-12-08T23:35:37.553+01:002011-12-08T23:35:37.553+01:00@Clark: even more interesting is that the arrival ...@Clark: even more interesting is that the arrival of the bus is signalled not only by a red light (because cyclists tend to ignore them?) but also by a bell like on railway crossings.
